Background: Established in 1995, Priory Campus is a registered charity and company limited by guarantee with a trading subsidiary, CAMMAG, that manages its commercial operations. Priory Campus is based in Barnsley and has a particular focus on the Monk Bretton Ward as well as the North-East of Barnsley.
The organisation was set up following the demise of the mining industry and aims to make a positive impact on the lives of local residents. Since its formation it has developed its primary site (Priory Campus) and delivered a wide-range of services for the benefit of the local community. We deliver services in three main areas:
- Health and Wellbeing
- Employability and Enterprise
- Community and Social Cohesion.
Track Record: Since the inception of Priory Campus we have been successful in developing contracted services securing grant funding and have developed a strong trading arm focussed on delivering catering and conferencing.
Priory Campus is established as a major provider of community services and at present their 34,000 square foot premises is fully utilised.
Systems and Processes: Priory Campus have robust financial procedures that are overseen by the Board of Directors through detailed management accounts and reports. Daily financial management is delegated to the Head of Operations, who is duly supported by the Finance Officer and the finance team.
Overall, systems and processes are strong and the Board of Directors and Head of Operations are keen to develop further through a continual process of review and improvement.
Beneficiaries: Priory Campus has developed over the years into a vibrant community anchor, inviting local people in to use a variety of services. Priory Campus beneficiaries range from birth – with no upper age limit.
Issues affecting the beneficiaries of Priory Campus range from long-term health needs to employability and education issues through to social isolation. Priory has development multiple services to meet the needs.
The Board of Trustees have clear goals, directly related for the benefit of residents within the Monk Bretton Ward and the North East corridor of Barnsley :

- Provide or facilitate: education/skill development/job opportunities/youth enterprise
