Formerly Family Welfare Association

We provide focused, timely and therapeutic support to families who are affected by a bereavement. Our work involves individual and group therapeutic sessions.

Many families who go through difficult times will have the personal support and resources to carry them through without too much pain; the families we serve usually do not.

In order to support these families, and particularly children and young adults, we recognise that it is essential to link support for the child to support for the whole family.

Our dedicated staff team invest in families to help them achieve positive changes in their lives.

If you wish to make a referral or require more information about this project we are based at Priory Campus and can be contacted on the telephone number above or at this address:

Many people want to go back to work, but are often concerned about how it will affect their incapacity or sickness benefits, or if they have the right skills, especially if they’ve been out of work for some time. Does this sound familiar? Or perhaps because of your disability, health problem or circumstance, you think no one will want to employ you? Shaw Trust Employment can help.

Shaw Trust is a national charity that has the expertise and understanding to make employment an achievable goal for those who face the biggest barriers to finding work. Operating in Barnsley and Rotherham, Shaw Trust Employment is one of the leading providers of the Governments New Deal for Disabled People Job Broking Programme – a specialist recruitment service for people on incapacity or sickness benefits who want to get back to work. As each individual registers for the service, they will be working with a personal adviser to help them build a tailored programme to move towards employment. This can include guidance in confidence and motivation, financial advice, training, job clubs and one-to-one job search support. In addition, a £200 job start grant is paid to people starting employment, to assist them with the purchase of clothes, tools or other expenses.
