Quick Menu Top | Comments and Suggestions | Data Protection | Guidance Councils Code of Principles | Social Inclusion | Statement of Service | Guidance Councils Code of Principles The Code of Principles has been agreed by representatives of all parties involved in the guidance process. The six principles in the Code are interdependent and are designed to be applied in their entirety. IMPARTIALITY Guidance should be impartial. Providers should be able to demonstrate any claim that they offer an impartial service or declare any factors which might limit the impartiality of the guidance offered to the individual. This includes provision reflecting the vested interests of the provider and/or the provision of incomplete information on opportunities for learning and work. CONFIDENTIALITY The guidance process should be confidential and this should be made clear to the individual. Personal information should not be passed on without the individual’s prior permission. Any limitations on this should be made absolutely clear at the earliest possible stage. CLIENT FOCUSED The guidance process should be focused on the needs of the individual whose interests are paramount. EQUALITY OF OPPORTUNITY Equality of opportunity should underpin all aspects of provision, including the activities and behaviour of the provider and the opportunities to which the guidance process leads. Providers should be able to demonstrate how they provide equality of opportunity. TRANSPARENCY The guidance process itself should be open and transparent. Guidance providers should explain in clear language, appropriate to the individual, how they propose to work in their part of the process. ACCESSIBILITY Guidance services should publicise, signpost and make the delivery of guidance accessible to any eligible user. This includes stating target clientèle, availability and other relevant arrangements clearly, in appropriate languages, locations and publications. Quick Menu Top | Comments and Suggestions | Data Protection | Guidance Councils Code of Principles | Social Inclusion | Statement of Service | Social Inclusion Priory Campus recognises that people living in Britain today are not treated equally. Groups of individuals are discriminated against because of their level of ability or impairment, gender, race, sexuality, class, income, age, religion and nationality to name a few. This bars people from access to the benefits of this society and denies them their basic human rights. Priory Campus is committed to challenging all forms of discrimination in the work of the project and in society generally. It recognises that barriers exist in accessing facilities and services and strives to remove those barriers. It is our intention that ALL people should feel safe and welcome in our facilities. We recognise that there is a legal framework that underpins equal opportunities in Britain, including the Human Rights Act, Race Relations Act, the Sex Discrimination Act and the Disability Discrimination Act. While supporting wholeheartedly the provisions of these laws we are aware that, in themselves, they fall far short of securing equal rights. We understand that there are barriers to achieving our aims but we will do all in our power to ensure equality of opportunity within our organisation.
